Dear Family (and we mean all of humanity),
Our lives are often marked by deep conflict and disconnection—both internally and socially. Society is increasingly divided, making it difficult to acknowledge, respect, or appreciate one another’s basic humanity. Internally, individuals may feel they are merely surviving, suppressing experiences, and are unable to fully engage with life. Opening Minds and Hearts (OMAH) was co-created by diverse individuals recognizing a need to come together to explore division and conflict as it exists within ourselves and society — seeing it all interconnected.
Our mission is to facilitate inclusive social spaces to gather in community and inquire into the roots and impact of internal and external division, conflict, disconnection, prejudice, and discrimination — to foster awareness and understanding, lessen community tension, improve community cohesion, and explore new possibilities of living in harmony with our whole selves, each other, and the world.
Within these spaces, we support collaboration to promote social action, assist those in need, and address societal ills. In all our activities, we see healing, rejuvenation, liberation, fulfillment, and transformation not as a distant outcome, but as something essential to explore in each step and moment for all involved.
